KUCHING: City police chief ACP Ashmon Bajah took time out on Monday to visit several of his men who have been brought low by chronic ailments.

The visit, made in conjunction with the 217th Police Day, saw him checking on their welfare and that of their families here.

Among the four personnel he spent time with was Sergeant Abdullah Bujang (Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Division) who is being treated for paranasal sinus and nasal cavity cancer.

Also, Corporal Sabaria Sapiee, from the Bintawa Police Station who suffers from diabetic retinopathy that causes blindness.

“The Kuching police headquarters has donated basic goods, and some cash to ease the burden of the police officers and that of their families,” said Ashmon after conducting a welfare visit to a Jalan Sultan Tengah residence here.

“This visit also shows concern for the welfare of officers and members while providing moral and financial support to those in need.”
