MUKAH: The combination of youth and the older leaders in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will ensure balance and continuity are maintained in the party.

PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said if there was no balance in the party and only veterans and no youths, the party would not stand strong.

“In the last state election (PRN), Abdul Yakub Arbi won in style in Balingian and in Tellian, our young Royston Valentine also had an excellent success despite being nominated at the last minute of the state election.

“His success manifested a continuation of our party’s struggle, for this we thank Yusibnosh Balo for willingly allowing the youth face in the last PRN,” he said.

He was speaking at the opening of the triennial delegates meeting of PBB Tellian and Balingian branches at Kingwood Resort on Saturday.

He pointed out that the action taken by Yusibnosh was an example of the disciplinary culture in PBB, which is to obey the instructions and decisions of the top leadership.

“This is the essence of our party, in the state election we present new faces, not only among the youth but among the women because we want a strong enough combination between the old and the new.

“This also makes our party from a small party now growing, and becoming the backbone of the government since the leadership of the late Tun Abdul Rahman Yakub, Tun Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud, Pehin Sri Adenan Satem and being continued by Abang Johari,” he explained.
