KUCHING: The Komuniti Sejahtera programme, held in Kampung Haji Baki last Saturday, offered residents crucial insights into a range of pressing social issues.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang addressed several key concerns during the event including the risks of fire incidents, the growing menace of online scams, and the persistent challenge of drug-related problems in the community.

“It is essential for our community to be well-informed about fire safety, to have strategies for combating cybercrime, and to know how to deal with substance abuse. My hope is to bring this programme to every village in my constituency, so everyone can benefit from this crucial knowledge,” said Lo when officiating at the programme.

Lo also acknowledged the collective efforts of various groups in making the programme a success. He extended his gratitude to all involved, with a special nod to uniformed units like the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA), and other partners.
