BINTULU: Contractors undertaking government projects are reminded to complete all projects on time and adhere to the set specifications.

State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion said they are also reminded to only use quality building materials and in accordance with the standards that have been set.

He said this after inspecting the progress of the Bintulu-Jepak bridge construction project here.

Speaking on the RM467-million four-lane bridge project, he said the project, which is expected to be completed in April 2023, has been delayed due to the implementation of the movement control order following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cable-stayed bridge is equipped with 494.2m of cables, drainage structures and decorated with decorative and landscaping lighting systems.

Upon completion, it will be able to shorten the journey from Bintulu Airport to Bintulu city.

Apart from that, this bridge will bring development into the Jepak area and at the same time help improve the socio-economic status of the people here.
