KUCHING: It is compulsory for mothers to take the Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction PCR) swab test, preferably within three days upon checking into the respective confinement centres here.

This standard operating procedure (SOP) was mentioned in a joint statement issued by several confinement centres on Monday (June 28).

The confinement centres included Adam & Eve Confinement Care, Blessings Care Centre, Little GEMS, Tulip MaMa House, Double Happiness Confinement Home, Balmy Confinement Care, Mama Paradise Confinement Care, Mama and Bambinos Confinement Care Centre, Mum Me Services, and LoveBond Care.

Fathers are allowed to stay in the confinement centre for the week but they too need to take the PCR swab test.

Any extension beyond the first week would be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

“Regular PCR swab tests will be required for fathers working in a crowded environment.”

“Children are allowed to stay with mothers throughout the confinement month.

“However, they will not be allowed to attend physical classes or activities outside the confinement centres.”
