KUCHING: A suspected hit-and-run driver believed to be behind the death of a newspaper distributor is at large.

“The suspect has been identified,” said Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Alexson Naga Chabu when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday, adding that the man should surrender himself to the police.

Naga said his men have located the company that owns the BMW and initial investigation shows that the car had been driven by a few people before.

“Since no one owned up to driving it at the time of the accident, my men have has dusted the steering wheel for finger prints

“It is a matter of time we will get the culprit. If he does not surrender and we arrest him, he will face more troubles,” Naga said.

In the fatal accident, Chong Kui Hin, 67, from Jalan Urat Mata was on his way to distribute newspapers when he was knocked down by a BMW at 6.15am along Tun Jugah Road. He was flung from his motorcycle and died on the spot.
