KOTA SAMARAHAN: Police picked up four students who allegedly bullied another student behind a shop lot on Monday (June 19).

The incident, which involved a group of students from a secondary school, had gone viral after a 47-second video clip was uploaded on social media.

Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Brodie Brangka said they received a report from the victim, who is a Form 1 student, around 5.10 pm on the day of the incident.

“A police team conducted an investigation and found that the incident happened behind a shop lot at Taman Desa Permai.

“Four boys, who are Form 1 and 2 students, had beaten the victim. All of them are from the same secondary school.

“The bullies have been identified and brought to the Kota Samarahan police station for further investigation and action,” he said, adding that the school management has been informed of the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both upon conviction.
