Council to execute community projects worth RM425,000

SARIKEI: The government has approved an allocation of RM425,000 for the implementation of various new community projects in the area.

Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said this funding will be channelled through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), with the implementing agency being the Sarikei District Council (MDS).

The Sarikei MP said a total of seven projects have been sanctioned and will be executed in the near future.

“These projects include roof and ceiling installations at the Che Sea Khor Moral Uplifting Society, upgrading of the hall and building at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Selangan, enhancement of parking facilities and fencing at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) (C) Tiong Ho, as well as roof installations at Rumah (Rh) Gundak, Rh Musit, Rh Rampoo, and Rh Jalang.

Meanwhile, Kapitan Ling Dien Yong, representing Huang who is also the Repok assemblyman, witnessed the project site handover from MDS officials to contractors and conducted an inspection at the respective locations.

In a statement, Huang expressed hope that the involved contractors would adhere to the schedule and work standards set by the implementing agency.

Present at the event were MDS chairman Kr Wong Zee Yeng, MDS assistant engineer Mohd Reza Rapaiee, Mohd Hisham Hamdin, and representatives of the contractors.
