KUCHING: Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Amir Omar received a courtesy visit from Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic (PKS).

According to a statement yesterday, the purpose of the visit was to inform Amir of the latest activities of PKS as well as to exchange thoughts and ideas on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) education.

It stated that currently, PKS offered 13 diploma programmes.

The delegation, led by its director Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan, was accompanied by deputy director (academic support) Ahmady Solong.

According to a press statement, the purposes of the courtesy call were to inform Amir of the polytechnic’s latest activities as well as exchange  thoughts and ideas about Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education.

It added 530 new students for session 2 of 2021 and 2022 registered at the residential colleges last Sunday while  the registration for the senior students session would commence on March 5 and 6.

To date, PKS offers 13 programmes  in the field of TVET.
