KUCHING: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) is taking an integrated approach to improve Kuching City for years to come.

The city hall announced the initiative as the Kuching City Clean, Beautiful, Safe, Smart, and Sustainable Plan (CBS) 2019 – 2023.

DBKU said it was committed to ensuring that the initiative could be realised for the welfare of the citizens.

“This approach is taken to improve and transform Kuching City as the cleanest, most beautiful, safest city and leverage on smart efforts to make Kuching a sustainable city,” it said yesterday (Sept 15).

DBKU pointed out that the vision of the initiative was “Kuching… a viable and dynamic city of choice’.

“Meanwhile, the initiative’s mission is to improve the quality of life by creating a conducive environment, citizen involvement and superior services,” it said.

DBKU added that it was taking on the important issues related to the environment seriously in an effort to create a better city for the people.

“To ensure sustainability, environmental policies have been established by international standards in the MS ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System,” it added.
