KUCHING: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak shows solidarity and support by extending crucial assistance to the ongoing efforts of the Civil Defence Force (APM) in the recent flood.

DAP representative Michael Kong, said the party’s initiative to distribute essential food supplies to the flood victims in Desa Wira, Kampung Sinar Budi, and Malihah, where 395 residents have been displaced.

“We stand with those who have been uprooted from their homes due to the floods. It’s inspiring to see the APM’s unwavering dedication in these challenging times,” said Kong in a statement.

He commended the efforts of more than 100 APM volunteers and helpers, who have shown exceptional dedication by working tirelessly to provide assistance.

Kong pointed out, however, that the hard work of these individuals often remains underrecognised.

“Their commitment to helping others sometimes means their own needs and well-being are neglected,” he added.

He stressed the need to honour and appreciate these “unsung heroes,” whose tireless dedication and selflessness are the embodiment of compassion and unity during crises.
