KUCHING: The special assistant to Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen, Abdul Aziz Isa, says DAP has no members in Kampung Haji Baki.

“As far as I know, Yusri had left DAP six years ago,” Aziz said in a statement to clarify a news report that said 72 members of DAP and PKR from
Kampung Haji Baki had quit their respective parties to join Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).

According to Aziz, Yusri was a member of DAP Batu Kawah branch from 2010 to 2012. After his membership expired in 2012, he never renewed it.

“DAP membership record shows that he was no longer a DAP member
since six years ago, how can he claim that he is a DAP member
when he is not?” he asked.

He said so far only nine applicants from Kpg Haji Baki had applied to join DAP and one of those was Yusri.

Aziz further said Yusri and eight others had applied to rejoin DAP through the new DAP Batu Kitang pro tem branch.

“Unfortunately, their membership applications have not been approved yet because we still need to vet their previous backgrounds. Therefore, they have no rights to claim that they are DAP members.

“And now that Yusri has applied to join SUPP, his application to join DAP will automatically be dropped,” Aziz said.
