KUCHING: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) itself are willing to work with United Malay National Organisation (UMNO) despite telling voters that a vote for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) equates to a vote for the Barisan Nasional (BN) party.

This was pointed out by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian who called DAP’s bluff.

“They were the ones who said they want to work with UMNO but now they kept on claiming that if the people vote for GPS, they will be voting for UMNO,” he said.

He said this during the launching of SUPP Youth NewBees & Puteri held at SUPP Headquarters here today.

The Deputy Premier said GPS on the other hand is flying solo and is not bound to work with any party, particularly UMNO, instead choosing to form the federal government with whoever that receives the mandate from the people.

“Remember this, GPS is solo but not equal to UMNO. On the night of election, we will talk to the winner to form the federal government.

“How can they prophesise that UMNO will win? Would anyone of you know that UMNO will definitely win? We will never know,” Sim said.

Sim added that however, the first and most important thing is for GPS to win all 31 seats in Sarawak.

“On November 19 (polling day), we have to win. Every single candidate from GPS, every single candidate from SUPP, must win,” Sim said,

Sim reminded the people whether they have ever heard about DAP talking about making Sarawak rich by setting our sights to become a leader in hydrogen economy or selling the electricity to our neighbouring countries.

“Have you ever heard about them talking about making us rich? They only talk about how Sarawak is going to go bankrupt.

“That is because they do not have any good ideas but only ‘bankrupt’ ideas which is why they always come out with their donation box asking for donations.

“This is why it is important to elect smart politicians to represent the people but not elect the people with ‘bankrupt’ ideas,” he said.
