KUCHING: Dayak lands will be lost should Sarawak Pakatan Harapan (PH) take over the state government, claims a Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council member.

Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim was responding to a statement made by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who was quoted as saying there is no such thing as Orang Asli ancestral land under the Perak constitution.

“By what the Perak MB had said, it seems that we, the Dayak people of Sarawak, will be the biggest losers in terms of land loss,” he said.

The Perak MB is from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) representing the PH federal government, said Ahmad, so he questioned why PH was coming to Sarawak, pretending to be champions of native land rights when they themselves in Perak or Malaya do not recognise the existence or privilege of the Orang Asli.

“If ever PH takes over Sarawak, we are finished. Gone are NCR lands, native lands, and communal lands,” he said.

He urged Sarawakians, especially the Dayaks, to wake up, voice their opinions and protect their lands from PH.

“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is 1,000 times better than the PH government. GPS fully recognises NCR, and now Native Territorial Domain (NTD) lands, under the Sarawak Land Code,” he stressed.

“We have many special rights and privileges that are enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the Federal Constitution.

“So PH, please do not try to teach us common folks good values when you have little of. Respect us Sarawakians and we will likewise do so.

“But mock us with continuous lies and propaganda, and we have no choice but to look at you as an enemy, instead of a responsible, honest and caring federal government,” Ahmad said.
