KUCHING: The second series of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Community Entrepreneurs Expo this year saw a total of 32 local entrepreneurs participating from 14 to 16 September at Kampung Sourbaya Ulu waterfront here.

Director of DBKU, Dr Morshidi Ahmad said that the event was held in conjunction with Maal Hijrah 1440H Carnival and invited the public to the expo to support the local products.

“Although community development is not one of the core businesses, we would like to see community in DBKU areas to be actively involved in social economy.

“So, this is one of our efforts to encourage the community to produce their product and market it.

“We have this carnival to make known to the others that we have homemade products by the local community,” he added when met by reporters at the expo here yesterday.

Among the agencies participating in the event are Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Matang Branch, Agrobank, and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).
