DBKU champions of Kuching Festival tournament

KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) emerged champions of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Kuching Festival Badminton tournament held at MBKS Indoor Stadium yesterday.

In second place were Harwood Timber while MBKS and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) shared the third place. Among other participated teams were Orang Ulu National Association (OUNA) and Trienekens.

Meanwhile, MBKS mayor Dato James Chan Khay Syn yesterday urged members of the public to utilise facilities available at the MBKS Indoor Stadium.

“The sports centre which was built about a year ago suitable for sports activities such as badminton, sepak takraw and others,” he said during the closing ceremony of the tournament.

“The city council have provided such facilities to encourage people to lead a healthier lifestyle.”

“I also would like to invite more individuals or organisations to partake in next year’s MBKS Kuching Festival Badminton Competition so that we can nurture the spirit of healthy living,” said James.
