MIRI: A Delivery Unit (DU) has been proposed to develop initiatives aligned towards the true north aspirations of the city with clear implementation details for implementation, monitoring and delivery of results.

“It would do monitoring, evaluation and delivery processes,” said Mayor Adam Yii at the closing of the three-week Miri Transformation Lab run by the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) here yesterday.

“Apart from this, there is also a proposal to set up two additional units or departments to reinforce the implementation of initiatives and coordination with government agencies with regard to tourism and digitalisation developments,” he said.

The lab was participated by about 100 council staff and non-governmental organisations on transforming the city.

“In this particular aspect, we have had a very fruitful engagement as the objectives of the lab have been achieved with targets, areas of focus and implementation plans successfully drawn up,” Yii added.

He said it is crucial that everyone in the council and NGOs involved adapts  the right mindset to produce the desired results with the support of the proposed Delivery Unit.
