Deputy minister visits project sites in Kalaka

SARATOK: Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Aidel Lariwoo inspected three development project sites in the Kalaka constituency yesterday (June 28).

A news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), said Aidel attended a briefing session at the Saratok Public Works Department (JKR) Office on two projects there.

The first project is the construction of a bridge under the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) across Sungai Krian, Saratok to Kupang worth RM85.5 million which will be built soon after survey work, and marine and traffic studies are finalised.

Meanwhile, the 15-km road from Pagan to Kampung Kaba will be built in phases with an estimated cost of RM120 million, covering drainage works and the construction of three bridges.

Aidel also visited the proposed bridge project site in Sungai Awik, Saratok to connect several longhouses in the Senyawan area.

Also present were Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri and Saratok District Officer Haron Mahidi.
