SEBUYAU: Member of Parliament for Batang Lupar, Mohamad Shafizan Kepli has reiterated his request that the government recognises the importance of establishing fire and rescue stations in rural or coastal areas.

He expressed sadness upon witnessing the destruction of two houses due to a fire, which also caused damage to several other houses in Kampung Tebelu on Monday.

“The sight is heavy on the eyes, and the burden on the shoulders is even heavier. The homeowners and families involved are suffering greatly, especially with Hari Raya approaching soon.

“I have raised this issue in Parliament before, highlighting the need for fire and rescue stations in remote villages in the interior.

“Therefore, I once again urge the government to consider establishing new fire and rescue stations in the Batang Lupar parliamentary constituency,” he said.

He visited the victims yesterday and also made some donations to those affected by the fire.

Mohamad Shafizan hoped that the victims would remain resilient in the face of this challenge during the holy month of Ramadan.
