District index crimes have increased

BAU: The cases of index crimes in the district have increased from January to this month compared to last year’s figure.

From January to March 22 this year, the Bau Criminal Investigation Division (CID) recorded a total of 11 index crime cases, an increase of seven cases, compared to last year’s four index crime cases.

Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon said that from among this year’s (index crime) figure, the police have solved four cases and as for the charge rate, 13 cases have been prosecuted.

For accident cases in Bau, the figures have increased by 19, with a total of 74 cases recorded this year compared to 55 cases recorded last year.

As for summonses, 311 were issued in the first three months of this year, a decrease of 401 summonses compared to 712 issued in the same period last year.

The district’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) has recorded a total of 84 cases and 94 arrests in the three-month period this year.

“This shows an increase of 18 cases and 27 arrests, compared to last year’s figure of 66 cases and 67 arrests,” he said.

On the breakdown of this year’s cases, Poge pointed out that there were two cases involving eight arrests under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952; 18 cases and 22 arrests under Section 12 (2) of the same Act; and 64 cases under Section 15 (1) of the same Act.
