KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi paid a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s residence here this morning.

Also present were Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang, Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Tupong assemblyman and chief political secretary to Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, and Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel.

The deputy prime minister arrived in Kuching yesterday (June 2) as part of his official working visit to Sarawak until today (June 3).

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, last night visited Gawai Dayak open house hosted by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

He is also expected to attend the Gawai Dayak open house and the Leaders Meet with the People session in Kapit this afternoon.

He is then scheduled to depart for the nation’s capital on the same day as today.
