DPM Zahid visits Uggah’s Gawai open house while on working trip to S’wak

KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived here yesterday (June 2) afternoon as part of his official working visit to Sarawak until today (June 3).

His arrival at 6.20pm was welcomed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas together with Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi, federal Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang, deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdulla Zaidel and other dignitaries.

Ahmad Zahid also attended Uggah’s Gawai Dayak open house at his residence, along with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He came at 8.05pm while Abang Johari arrived at 8.16pm. They were greeted by Uggah and then watched a Ngajat dance performance.

The deputy prime minister is in Sarawak to attend the Gawai Dayak celebration and the Leaders Meet the People session in Kapit division.

Also present during the open house were Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, federal Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, and chief political secretary to the Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
