IGAN: Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya is prepared to support the hiring of outside experts to teach Arabic to religious school students.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Dr Juanda said Arabic language proficiency is essential for religious schools.

“If it is necessary, hold a workshop and bring expert teachers from outside. Those who need funds and a budget should please let me know, and I will be happy to help.

“Not only Arabic, but also other subjects that require external guidance and funding—let me know,” he said at the 2022/2023 Excellence Student Appreciation Ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Agama Igan on Friday.

Elaborating, the Jemoreng assemblyman said that the current collaborative programme with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) should be continued and that he should be informed if it has to be expanded to other universities.

In the meantime, he congratulated the students and expressed his gratitude to the teachers who faithfully guided them.
