SARIKEI: The police narcotic unit here detained a jobless man who is believed to be involved in drug abuse during an operation held at Jalan Rentap here on Monday.
Sarikei District Police chief, Superintendent Mat Jusoh Mohamad said the arrest was the latest police success in combating the drug menace.
He added that following a urine test on the suspect aged 34 it was discovered that he was positive of Amp and Meth.
“He is being detained under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he said in a media statement on Monday.
Mat Jusoh said an operation to track down those involved in drugs in the district will be continued.
“It is one of the ways to stop the menace from spreading. Hence, cooperation for the people is vital,” he said.
