MIRI: Narcotics police last Tuesday morning arrested three persons – two of them Vietnamese women – and seized 808.32g of five different types of drugs worth about RM82,201.10.
According to the narcotics police chief, Supt Sahar Abdul Latif, the jobless suspects were arrested during a raid at 11am following a tip-off.
“The first suspect, a 24-year-old local man, was arrested near the guard house of a condominium in Tanjong Lobang,” he said in a statement.
The suspect was approached while he was inside a four-wheel drive vehicle (4WD).
Further inspection of the car yielded several illegal substances.
Among the things found in the car was a condominium keycard.
“Led by the suspect the police entered the condominium using the keycard and found the two Vietnamese women and more drugs,” said Sahar.
He added that the suspects began their activities early last year when they distributed illegal substances to entertainment houses in the city.
The male suspect has tested positive for drugs while the two Vietnamese women tested negative.
“The man has previous drug-related offences under Section 39B, 39A and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” Sahar said.
Police also seized a gold necklace, two gold rings and 28 gold pendants.
