EC postpones polling for Baram

MIRI: The Election Commission (EC) today has decided to postpone polling for Baram due to bad weather conditions that hampered its officers from being deployed to the remaining 11 polling stations.

The new date of voting for Baram will be announced later when the commission decides on a new date where the weather is safe for EC workers and voters to reach the polling centre to vote.

EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh in a statement today said EC officers were unable to reach the polling stations either by air, land or river.

These 11 affected polling stations are SK Long Naah (channel 1 and 2) ; SK Lung Luteng (channel 2); Rumah TK Mathew Belulok Lalo Kampung Lepo Gah (channel 1 and 2);SK long Sait (channel 2); SK Long Tungan (channel 1 and 2); SK Long Moh (channel 1 and 2); SK Long Mekaba (channel 1); SK Long Jekitan (channel 1 and 2);SK Long Lamei (channel 2);SK Lio Mato (channel 1 and 2) and SK Long Banga (channel 1 and 2).
