KUCHING: The eldest brother of Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Richard Sim Kui Hock, 72, has passed away yesterday (Mar 22).
Dr Sim said his brother born on Feb 3, 1949 breathed his last at Timberland Medical Centre, Kuching at 8.30am.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of my brother. We convey our sincere and deepest condolences to his wife Pamela, his daughter Dr Alyssa, his son Ulick, family and loved ones,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday (Mar 22).
He said his late brother’s wake will be at 32 Sekama Road and funeral arrangements will be made.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Dr Sim.
It was reported that the late Richard held the position of the assistant treasurer of the Federation of Sim Clan Associations of Malaysia for the 2014 to 2017 term.
He was also once a committee member of the National Sports Institute (NSI).
