SIBURAN: Kampung Emperoh Jambu is poised to become Sarawak’s biggest coffee production hub.

Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said this strategic plan is being carried out by the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) and serves as the primary agenda for the village’s development under the Greater Kuching Development Coordination Agency (GKCDA).

Jerip, who serves as Mambong assemblyman, also revealed that a coffee collection centre will be established in Bandar Baru Bayur by the year 2024.

“I will give my commitment to focus on agricultural cluster development, particularly on coffee cultivation, to realise this plan,” he said at the 123rd anniversary celebration of Kampung Emperoh Jambu held here yesterday (Sept 2).

During the event, he approved funds totalling RM500,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for 2024 to upgrade the village multipurpose hall and RM30,000 for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to organise annual activities.
