KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) will continue to act as a driver of the community ecosystem.

Its vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said this would strengthen the community at national and on the global stage.

“Indeed, the uniqueness of the UNIMAS brand should be strengthened for as the saying goes, success is not achieved without effort.

“In this regard, UNIMAS has successfully signed as many as 135 memorandum of understanding (MoUs) involving 30 countries at the international level.”

He said this during the second session of the university’s 26th convocation ceremony at DeTAR Putra, UNIMAS here today (Nov 1).

He explained that in order to broaden students’ international experience, UNIMAS has allocated funds to encourage students’ participation in mobility programmes at the world’s leading educational institutions.

“This includes opportunities for research, education and industrial training, as well as participation in academic and non-academic competitions.
