KUCHING: CityONE Megamall confirmed that one of the largest growing supermarket chain Everrise is taking over Metrojaya’s location.

CityONE Megamall owner Stephen Long said while Metrojaya is relocating, Everrise will be moving into the mall starting June onwards.

“I am confident with Everrise coming in with their most premium setup, many other big brand tenants will follow suit,” he told New Sarawak Tribune today.

He said the mall is looking forward to working with Everrise, and believes the supermarket is able to give its best service to customers.

Meanwhile, there have been rumours circulating on Facebook and Whatsapp on the closing down and reallocation of several retailers in Kuching recently.

Among them were the potential closure of EG Mall at King’s Centre, and Everrise closing down business at Batu Kawa, Padungan and Serian.

Ting and Ting and Giant Hypermarket at Semariang might be closing down, too.

Words also had it that Metrojaya at CityONE Megamall would be relocating to Riverside Shopping Complex.

Long said that he can only confirm that Everrise is taking over Metrojaya’s location in CityONE.

New Sarawak Tribune had tried to contact Everrise and EG Mall’s on their potential closure but failed.

Checks on their social media page on Facebook, showed no statements on the rumoured closure.
