MIRI: Police arrested two women and four men for barricading the entrance to a SEB substation at Kampung Lereng Bukit here yesterday.

The six were detained after they allegedly refused to remove their car from blocking the main entrance into the sub-station.

Prior to the incident, the police team consisting of 46 personnel led by Miri police chief ACP Lim Eng Seah was deployed to the area at 6am to help personnel from SEB and Miri Land and Survey office remove illegal barriers set up by the villagers.

The barriers were meant to prevent SEB and other relevant government agencies from
entering the area.

The six people believed to be from one family were spotted arriving at the scene at 7.50am in a car.

“They parked their car in front of the main entrance to the substation, and we advised them to relocate the vehicle to other places but they refused,” said Lim when contacted about the incident.
