MUKAH: A farmer succumbed to his injuries while two others were severely injured when two cars collided along KM3, Jalan Oya-Mukah yesterday (Nov 14).
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the dead victim was identified as 43-year-old Khusairy Hussien.
“The fatal accident happened around 4.20 pm when a Perodua Ativa and a Hyundai Accent were moving in opposite directions.
“The collision occurred when the Hyundai, driven by a 43-year-old woman, suddenly skidded out of control and collided with the oncoming Perodua car, driven by a 31-year-old man,” he said.
Khusairy, the husband of the driver of the Hyundai, was seated in the front seat.
The drivers of both cars sustained severe injuries – one to the left ribs and the other to the right leg.
All three victims were sent to Mukah Hospital for treatment.
However, Khusairy was pronounced dead around 5.35 pm while receiving treatment at the hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
