Fatin Nurfatehah breaks national record at Paris World Cup

KUALA LUMPUR: National elite athlete Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh smashed her own national record in women’s individual compound event at the 2023 Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Paris today.

According to the tournament website https://info.worldarchery.org, the 32-year-old athlete amassed a total of 704 points after 72 shots in the qualifying round to determine rankings, erasing the old mark of 701 points set at the 2023 World Cup Stage 1 in Turkiye last April.

Fatin Nurfatehah, the 2015 World Cup Stage 1 winner, finished seventh and will meet Hong Kong’s Ho Yan Tsang in the first round tomorrow.

In men’s individual compound, national archer Mohd Juwaidi Mazuki scored 707 points after 72 shots in the qualifying round to determine rankings and will meet Indonesia’s Rajat Chauhan in the first round.

In the mixed compound event, Fatin Nurfatehah-Mohd Juwaidi collected 1,411 points in the qualifying round to enter the 1/8 knockout round. –  BERNAMA
