Fire destroys house in Meludam


SEBUYAU: A house at Kampung Darat, Meludam, near here was destroyed in a blaze on Wednesday.

Saratok Fire and Rescue Department chief Nazry Mohamat said fortunately, no loss of lives was reported during the 9.50pm incident.

He said firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at around the same time.

“A single-storey house had caught fire and was already 90 percent destroyed (when firefighters arrived).”

According to Nazry, at the time of the incident, there was only one adult male occupant in the house.

“The cause and total loss incurred by the victim are still under investigation.”
