KUCHING: A Sesco transformer in Kampung Panglima Seman, is believed to have exploded and caught fire last night (Aug 28).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 9.15 pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Petra Jaya station were deployed to the scene, about 7km away from the station.
On arrival, they noticed the fire had destroyed the transformer.
After ensuring that there are no embers at the scene, the team concluded their operation at 9.50 pm.
The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
