SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak provided food and cash to its flood affected staff on Monday (Jan 18).
UiTM Sarawak rector Datuk Dr Jamil Haji Hamali together with the Academic and International Affairs Division (HEA&A) Deputy Rector Dr Firdaus Abdullah sent the donations to the staff in several flood-hit districts.
“We hope to alleviate the burden that they are experiencing. Hopefully, the staff will always take care of the safety of their families during this flood season,” UiTM stated in the press statement.
The donations were personally presented by Jamil to the staff in their homes located in Kampung Sourabaya, Kampung Bintawa and Kampung Panglima Seman; as well as around Kampung Rantau Panjang.
Also present were UiTM Sarawak Staff Club (Kekita) president Dr Kamarudin Jara’ee and other UiTM staff.
