Food vendors hopeful of brisk sales

KUCHING: Food vendors at the Borneo Music Festival 2022 are excited and expected a large turnout at the two-day event being held from Sept 9 to 10 at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).

The festival which features international artistes DJ Soda and Alan Walker, started around 1pm with visitors already present in the vicinity.

New Sarawak Tribune met with the food vendors to hear their responses and views on the much anticipated festival.

Winsoon Voon, whose stall ‘Fllying Sauces Izakaya’ stationed at the Borneo Music Festival’s food  bazaar  is excited about  the two-day event.

“I am looking forward to the event. Hopefully the weather gets better, come and visit the stall here and have some sakae.

“I would love to meet you. I also own a restaurant called ‘Flying Sauces Izakaya’ in Jalan Song, next to Zozo”. he added.

Another food vendor, Gan Seng Kai is expecting many people to the event.

“I am looking forward to it. All of the food we sell are our own production, we are doing the pork sausage and cheesy meatball.

“We supply our own food, BYT Product, we make our own product and we’ve joined the Kuching Festival and will soon join the Octoberfest”, he shared of the stall’s business.

Connie Chai, who works for Little Western House which is located at Sentosa Food Street, is excited as there will be a large crowd for the two-day event.

“We sell a variety of food, such as China Bbq, waffles, chicken wings and Ice cream.

“I am looking forward to the two-day event and will be here for the two days. Our stall’s name is Little Western House here in the Food section of Sarawak Cultural Village”, she added.

Suzanna Razuki, has two cafes in Metrocity Matang, and this is her third cafe, Food Quest.

Her food company’s business  is called Thirty Seven Resources and has been in the food business for more than five years.

“The responses have been so far so good. I am quite excited for the two days’ event. Come and visit us. We sell corn dogs, meatballs, pasta and Korean chicken”, she said.
