KUCHING: Forty-two Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the Sarawak Welfare Department (JKMS) completed the “PRO Reconciliation Workshop” yesterday in Santubong.

The four-day workshop was held to give the participants a deeper understanding of public relations, photography, video editing and news writing.

Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) gave seminars and teachings on “before and after crisis” case managements and answering issues asked by the public.

The participants were made to go through exercises and field assignments that involved finding stories, and taking pictures and videos.

“All of you will be the frontline to bring up our department’s image.

“This course will be held often in the near future therefore, I would want to express my gratitude to the facilitators for making this course a success,” she said at the closing ceremony.

Participant Hafizuddin Saili said he learned a lot from the course as he did not know how to write news, take photos and edit videos before.
