SIBU: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) branch in Sibu invites its local residents who are uneducated in reading and writing to participate in the Adult Literacy Programme themed ‘Reading & Writing Learning Class’.
The programme will be held at its premise at Jalan Tun Tuanku Bujang, Sungei Merah. Participation for the programme is free of charge.
According to the press release from Pustaka Sibu, the programme is a new service extended to members of the public aged 13 years and above and is aimed to improve the literacy level of adults in Sarawak.
“In addition, this free of charge programme is also in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4, which is quality education. The goal is to provide comprehensive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
“Registration can be done by scanning the QR code on the poster. The registration period is now open and will end in April 2024,” the statement added.
