KUCHING: There is still no clear winner in sight as the 15th General Election (GE15) approaches, says political pundit Datuk Peter Minos.

He said the outcome of the election is unpredictable due to the “confusing and messy” political situation in Malaya.

“It is all uncertain and hazy,” he said in a statement today (Nov 14).

He said the three main parties in the Peninsular, namely Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN), each have their own internal problems and troubles, especially among party members.

“BN led by UMNO has big problems, internal ones, for dropping many great members as potential candidates and a silent rebellion is brewing up and its image as a party led by a court cluster man,” he said.

He also added that had BN chairman Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi left UMNO alone and not been involved in GE15 and UMNO affairs, the coalition would be in good hands.

“But he did not and UMNO now gets the worst blunt,” he added.

As for PH, Minos pointed out that the coalition had failed to meet the people’s expectation after the political mess they created during their 22-month reign as the ruling government.

“I believe the people in the Peninsular are getting tired of them.

“Even we in Sarawak are displeased with the Democratic Action Party (DAP) for its bullying and haughtiness while in federal power,” he added.

Peter added that PN is also losing its steam and not giving much hope and excitement to the people in Peninsular

“When he is no longer the prime minister, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin lost his name and relevancy.

“So Bersatu and PN is getting pretty irrelevant in peninsular politics. It is just tagging around and hoping for miracles to happen,” he added.

He predicted that none of the parties mentioned will get the minimum 112 out of 222 MP seats.

“Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will have a decisive role. Very decisive.

“GPS will decide as it must, which group to support to form the next federal government and the ones who can give benefits to Sarawak,” he added.
