Generous donors contribute to Chinese federation’s fundraiser

KUCHING: The Sarawak Anti-Pandemic Support Funds campaign launched by the Federation of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division Chinese Associations has managed to secure RM13,250 from generous donors.

The federation said both the Kuching and Samarahan Division Tai Poo Community Association and Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 Alumni Association managed to garner 153 donors for the cause.

“Out of the 153 donors, 120 of them come from the committee and the members of Tai Poo Community Association with a total donation of RM11,450 while  the remaining 35 donors are from the Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 Alumni Association with a total donation of RM1,800,” it said on Tuesday. 

“All donations collected together with the list of donors will be handed over to the president of the Federation of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division Chinese Associations, Datuk Richard Wee, and the chairman of the campaign, Kuek Eng Mong.”

The federation is also expecting more handover ceremonies in future for the donations received from members, corporate bodies, private entities as well as other individuals.

During the handover ceremony, Wee and Kuek thanked the committees and members of both associations for their generous and sincere support.

They also praised the president of Tai Poo Community Association, Lo Siew Fong, and the president of Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 Alumni Association, Tien Yu Yian, for setting an example by taking the initiative to launch the donation drive.
