KUCHING: The current hot weather does not dampen the spirit of the Gipsy Kings to entertain the crowd at the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) last night.

The Grammy award-winning band, which was established in 1978 in France, is known for musical genres such as Catalan rumba, flamenco, salsa and pop.

Gipsy Kings consists of four members, namely, Nicolas Reyes, Canut Reyes, Andre Reyes and Tonino Baliardo.

Nicolas said that they were happy to bring their music to RWMF and hoped the visitors would be entertained by their music.

“Every concert is unique and therefore it will be different from other concerts before.

“I am happy and excited to bring a different sound (group) to Malaysia for the first time,” he told a press conference at Damai Beach Resort here yesterday (June 23).

He added they were happy to perform here and excited about the state’s hospitality, climate and landscape.

The 26th edition of RWMF continues to promise a unique experience that combines music, culture and nature with performances by local and international musicians.
