LAWAS: The Sarawak government needs feedback from the local community regarding the implemented development policies and strategies, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

He said that the people’s feedback is important to ensure that any policies and development activities are implemented according to local needs.

“In terms of implementation, for example, there may be something that is not very accurate and not appropriate to the situation or the place.

“With feedback from the people, God willing, we will be able to improve this matter, not only in terms of policy or programme, but the implementation mechanism of the policy and programme will also be able to meet the objectives and target those who need help,” he said.

He said this during the launch of the Ziarah UKAS Semarak Ramadan Programme in Limbang yesterday (April 15).

Awang Tengah, who is also the Bukit Sari assemblyman, added that the cooperation of all of society is needed in the effort to develop the state.

“Our government has a mission and vision to make Sarawak a developed state by 2030 with its people earning high incomes.

“We will improve the wellbeing of the community with balanced development,” he said.

In the meantime, he said that the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) played a role in strengthening the relationship between the Sarawak government and the local people.

“This is good so that the people will understand all the development policies and strategies implemented in this state,” he added.

At the programme, Awang Tengah also distributed kitchen necessities to 110 recipients from three villages, namely Kampung Datu Hulu, Kampung Dato Menengah, and Kampung Dato Laut.
