SIBU: A government retiree was found dead beside a drain at Lorong 10, Jalan Delta on Sunday morning (Aug 16).
District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said a team of policemen and an ambulance rushed to the scene after being alerted by a concerned citizen around 7.30am.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
He was identified as former medical assistant, Mohamad Supian Abu Bakar, 66.
“There were no signs of foul play.
“Only the victim’s face suffered a small wound, believed to have been caused by his fall,” said Stanley in a statement.
He added the body was taken to the Sibu Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The case has been classified as sudden death.
