The figure 1919 will go down in history as a date carved in stone as far as Sarawakians are concerned.

It’s on Jan 9 2019 (yesterday) that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) logo and the coalition’s song were unveiled.

That’s not all. Come Jan 19, the coalition will be officially launched at an equally historic ceremony.

The GPS logo depicts a hornbill symbolising the coalition’s resolve to fight and preserve state rights.

Just as the beautiful Burung Kenyalang deserves all the protection that it needs to avoid extinction, so do our state rights which should be protected from being extinguished.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg,  when unveiling  the  GPS logo and song at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters in Kuching yesterday,  said GPS’ determination to defend Sarawak’s rights was depicted by the protected hornbill.

Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Assistant Minister Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said GPS is the best platform for Sarawakians to unite and protect state rights.
