KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is continuously observing ongoing political changes in and around the country and learning from them in preparation for the next state election.

Welfare, Community Well-Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said this is response to the victory of Barisan Nasional (BN) in Rantau by-election on Saturday.

Fatimah speaks at an interview on the bill amendment.

“Winning three by-elections – Cameron Highlands, Semenyih and Rantau – in a row is a great booster for BN,” she told New Sarawak Tribune, today.

She said it is Pakatan Harapan’s weakness that has led to strong support for BN.

“We have learned something from the political scenario,” she said.

Fatimah, who is also Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief, said her party has started making early preparations to the next election, but not on a big scale yet.

“The members have been going to each constituency to reach out, touch hearts, and engage minds’,” she said.
