Corporate Affairs Assistant Minister Abdullah Saidol said GPS must show that it is significantly different from its predecessors and current rivals not only in terms of its political struggle but also in its work ethics.

“We do not want a feudal culture among our leaders. We want leaders who are close to the people,” he said when met by reporters after the launch of GPS logo and song at PBB headquarters yesterday.

He said with Sarawak’s unique culture, its stature as the biggest state in the country and by virtue of it being a signatory to the formation of Malaysia, Sarawakians must have high self-esteem and pride.

“They must always be mindful of the rights of Sarawak under the Federal Constitution and MA63 in order to safeguard the interest of future generations,” he said.

“We still want to be in Malaysia and be with the other states although we are fighting for the rights of our state. We are not going to be hostile to other Malaysians. So please do not go come to Sarawak if you promote hatred of religion and race,” he said.
