MIRI: Even the dead are not spared as several graves have been desecrated at the Riam Anglican cemetery near here.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed that a police report was lodged after a family discovered their grandfather’s grave had been vandalised.
“The discovery was made around 9.30am on Sunday when the complainant and his mother visited the grave.”
Several items belonging to the deceased were missing, ACP Lim added.
Several other graves inside the cemetery were also vandalised.
The case is being investigated under Section 297 of the Penal Code for trespassing into burial places.
