KUCHING: The Disaster Operations Rooms in all divisions in Sarawak are ready to be activated following a yellow-level weather warning issued by the Meteorological Department which forecasts rain in several areas in the state starting on tomorrow.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee secretariat revealed that Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Betong, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Sibu and Mukah would be experiencing heavy rain starting tomorrow until Saturday.
The operation rooms have stepped up their preparedness to face the possibility of floods especially in low-lying areas and landslides on hilly sites.
