KUCHING: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch is giving away the uniquely designed calendars to mark the beginning of 2024.

The calendars will be distributed to the members of the public in Padungan constituency.

The calendar features photos and contact information of the community leaders (JKKK) responsible for the constituency, as well as the councillors for MBKS Zone 05, enabling the public to access information and services.

“The importance of political leaders listening to the voices of the people before making any decisions, using public opinion as a foundation to ensure that governance aligns with the people’s demands,” said Kuching Branch chairperson Datuk Lily Yong during the launching of the calendar.

She expressed that Kuching Branch’s inaugural distribution of calendars aims to strengthen the party’s connection with the people in Padungan constituency.

Yong noted the common assertion by leaders that the Sarawak government has ample resources while acknowledging that the people in Sarawak do not feel that way.

She highlighted the urgent calls from the public for the government to provide more practical and timely assistance to the people in the face of the currency depreciation, price hikes, and the rising cost of living.

On the other hand, in promoting the “Grassroots 2.0” initiative, Kuching Branch also encourages community leaders and party members to work together as a team, actively collect the opinions of constituents, including their opinions and feedback on government policies.

Kuching Branch will compile the collected data and present it to the relevant authorities as suggestions for improvement.
